June 8, 2009 We are at Indian Lakes, IN about 79 mils from Indy. Trudy is getting anxious to go see her Mom and sister. This is a beautiful site and we were lucky enough to get a site by the water. Our rubber boat is pulled up on the shore and we have already gone exploring for good fishing spots. The rumor is that giant large mouth bass lurk in the depths of this lake. We had planned on being here for 3 days but might stay longer---we found some pickleball players and you know how that goes.

The Natchez Trace Parkway was the major road that was walked or traveled on horseback in the years up to 1801 when the US government widened it (to 8 feet) for use to transport the mail. It was a beautiful drive through the forests and cypress swamps of Mississippi and Tennessee. There are not commercial trucks allowed on the Parkway and the speed limit is 50mph. It was a very enjoyable ride. We took two day with stops at every historical marker.
